Creating a Port and IV Accessible Crewneck with My Twin Sister as She Fights Cancer
When my twin sister was diagnosed with cancer, everything changed. Suddenly, the world we knew—full of plans, dreams, and the simple joys of daily life—felt distant, replaced by appointments, treatments, and the uncertain unknown. In the midst of this chaos, one thing was clear: I had to find a way to make her journey just a little bit easier. That’s when the idea of a port- and IV-accessible crewneck was born.

As I watched her fight, day by day, I began to imagine a piece of clothing that could offer comfort, strength, and simplicity. Something that would allow her to face her treatments with a sense of dignity, all while making her feel just a little more like herself. Together, we worked to create a crewneck that would meet the practical needs of cancer treatment.
With the help of some friends in the product industry, we were connected to a manufacturer. We worked as much as we could through treatments and surgeries to perfect our vision of the iv and port-accessible crewneck.

Brinlee wore our first sample to her trip to MD Anderson, one of the nation's top cancer centers. She was able to wear it through all her scans and blood work. It helped her stay warm in the freezing hospital and also comforted with a knowledge that she wasn't alone in all of this.
It was a symbol of the strength she carries, and the love we share, stitched into every seam. We hope that others who wear our crewnecks will find that same sense of comfort and connection. Whether it’s during a treatment, a difficult day, or a quiet moment of reflection, we want each wearer to feel the warmth of knowing they are not alone.
Together, we can do this.
Every stitch is a reminder that we are stronger together—family, friends, and a community united in resilience and love. Thank you for letting us be a small part of your journey. We’re with you, every step of the way.

As twins, we’ve always supported each other through every high and low. When I was diagnosed with cancer, Mariela was there every step of the way, facing her own challenges alongside me. That’s why we created a regular crewneck without zips—so anyone can join the movement of ‘living today.’ Now, we can wear them together, connected in a way that reminds us to make each day count, no matter the journey.
